The Garbage men! These are some of the real hero’s of the world. The ones who are over looked every day. The individuals who deal with all of which we want no more, from dangerous broken glass, chemicals, old batteries, bed bug infested furniture and all the rotten food we throw away. The homeless use our left over crap to build humble makeshift houses out of it all. They eat the scraps of what we leave behind. The world is full with these faces in the shadows of glamorous billboards and hipster restaurant heads, who’s brightest evening consist showing off in designer clothing. Yet, some people don’t need to run up walls to impress, because it’s already there. Some people have had hardships and true struggles. They have lives and real stories. We look past them every day on the bus, the streets and on the way to getting food to enjoy in our restaurants or super markets. Yet, what is trash to some is treasure me! A beautiful world of glorious trash, to build forth dreams and bliss! My father was a garbage man and the stories he told me stuck with me to this day. Filled with adventure, sadness, creativity and strength to move on through tough times. The things he brought home were glorious to me! Makeshift kingdoms of BEAUTIFUL TRASH!
He told me of the homeless people he got to know and how bringing them any little scrap made them so happy just to eat, blanks not to be cold and other junk we throw out to make their houses stronger. Today I think of my dad and all the stories he told me which make me who I am today. Someone who treasures the beauty of reality and sees the true beauty in others all around. I miss my dad, He was a beautiful human being, who I believe could have been anything he wanted if his father had let him have the education he wanted instead of putting him down and constantly beating him up. His ideas were brilliant as an artistic thinker And performer. Yet, non the less he DID created even with out the education. He created art and true magick all the time! The imagination comes to us not always from the castles of the world or the velvet chairs in the offices of someplace like NBC… sometimes it comes from the garbage men, the bus drivers and the dreamers like me— and you!
Nothing can block real beauty and imagination from true magick. True magick is full of ACTION, IMAGINATION AND HEART —and together they can accomplish anything!
